2016 Sandstorm Series Merlot

The Desert Wind ‘Sandstorm Series’ is carefully crafted from the best lots of wine from each vintage, all sourced from the Desert Wind Vineyard. This wine represents the best of our Merlot, with a small portion of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Malbec added to provide complementing fruit and additional complexity. The grapes were fermented in open top bins, and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, with 40% new oak. The wine is robust with strong aromas of vanilla, cherry, caramel and dark chocolate.
